Its Thursday,

What is everyone doing this weekend? Will it be expensive or not so much?

I have to go into the city. I was planning on looking at high chairs so I might buy one. I hope to get out of that store with only a high chair. But you know how that goes. We will see. I had $150 in mind.

Passion, you should fear the teenager years. Teenage boys will eat you out of house and home.

And not just the obvious. They will eat your chocolate chips, frosting, marshmellows, and powdered sugar. Any ingredient you THOUGHT you had to bake with.

They eat cereal out of tupperware serving bowls and drink pop out of two litre bottles. And god forbid a friend comes over; a weeks worth of snacks easily gone in one sitting.

I stopped buying food and only kept cereal, milk, bread and peanut butter and jelly in the house. Oh, and eggs and cheese. That was about it.

When my oldest nephew was a teenager, my sister in law used to 'hide' food in my mother's freezer (she lived across the street) because the boys would walk through the kitchen and clean her out...she bought a gallon of milk every day....of course, when my brother played football, my mom made him five sandwiches every morning to take to school...plus assorted snacks. He took his lunch in a grocery bag. When he went to college, her biggest complaint was that her bread was always stale..when she was feeding him she had nice fresh bread every other day...

I wish I knew, Jennifer, I wish I knew.

Now I'm thinking about breaking it off with the GF.

By the way, DW and DD are imaginary. I created them so I wouldn't be left out when everyone talks about their families.

On the weekends when my boys are not with me I cook a lb of bacon for DH and I. What we don't eat I put in a baggie in the freezer. I like to use it in soups, stews, salads and on pizza. Dear teenage son eats my FROZEN cooked bacon. He actually goes looking for it in the freezer! I guess it is better than junk food, but good God!

I don't know where they put all that food. Their stomaches must be huge! Your story is pretty funny, and oh, so true.

My DS23 posted something on FB about eating his favorite cereal and I asked him if he still ate it out of a tupperware bowl. He got a good a laugh and said "yea, sometimes."
