Its Thursday.

I have to work 4 hours on Sat and 4 hours on Sunday. Other wise I hope to be painting or helping with painting the rest.

Hopefully pretty frugal here as well. Today I am meeting DH after work for dinner, as it is so beautiful out we want to sit out and enjoy it before the weather turns a bit colder on Friday.
Friday I have a career counselor appointment and want to just clean house. Saturday I have a half day meeting for my teaching that is required for us. Sunday we are going to visit DS at college with Dh's parents, so gas and dinner out there.

Other than that, not much at all. We have food and I am on a bland diet anyway (due to get gallbladder out in the next two weeks, joy.)

A little bit of both. Getting a much needed haircut (I find I can go most of the year trimming it myself or getting my cousin to cut it, but once a year I need a good cut). It's really only a trim though so about $30. I am helping my mom rip up floor and take down a wall in her new condo (somewhat selfishly I must say since it will mean she moves out faster!). In return she is paying for a manicure and I am upgrading to a biogel manicure AND pedicure (so another $40). I'm going to spoil myself and I'm going to enjoy it!

I'm driving two hours to give a talk at a (relatively) nearby university tomorrow. (It's a paid gig, or so I assume. But as with the standard practice in academia, they don't tell you how much you're getting paid until you've done the gig. No, it has nothing to do with your performance, because the check is cut ahead of time. It's just the culture. Money isn't supposed to be important.) I might have a bit of fun there with my blow money. Then I'll return on Saturday in time for a ballet (the cost of the ticket was included in the budget of the week of the purchase). Two friends want to have dinner. I'll go, but I'll feel like I'm packing too much into one weekend.

It's got to be a frugl weekend for me.

I spent a TON on medical issues this week (with no resolution either).

Sorry to hear about the medical problems, bumblingalong. It sounds miserable. I'm beginning to see that sometimes you have to travel quite far to find someone who can treat your health problems effectively. Good doctors are not abundant in this world. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that your medical issues will get resolved and you'll get your health back.

I myself got a flare up today. Yuck.

Hi,
Have you considered putting a line in your budget for medical? Seems like it may help and will exasperate you less. Just a thought.

Good for you Bex.....like you, I've not had a good hair cut in about 4 mos. I'll glad your mom in finally moving on. You need a break and she needs to learn to be independant again.
