Weekend $$ Plans?
Thu, 01-12-2012 - 10:54am

I have to curl in a bonspiel this weekend. I am also on the club executive and organizing all the food. Very stressful. I hope the curling is fun but I am really not looking forward to the rest. Sigh. The weekend will cost at least $50 (four pies for a food donation)and most of that will be for food at the rink.

My weekend will be mostly work, and largely frugal. I've invited two friends over for dinner. They've been feeling unwell, so I'm hoping to cheer them up a bit. That's the only expenditure, and I'm not planning a fancy meal.

Maybe I'll do my taxes...

Another "hunker down and get work done around the house" weekend for us.

It's going to suck :(
I have a bachellorette party to go to. It's gotten totally out of hand. I'm trying really hard to keep it under control (and I'm going to be the DD for the sake of my budget AND my diet). I put aside $110 (scrimping on my weekly spending for the last little bit) and am hoping to only spend half on my share of food and drinks (etc). The other half will be put aside to pay for the dress alterations when I go to pick it up.

So far the weekend looks inexpensive. I am in 4 classes this semester at night and I work full time, so I am going to try to hunker down and start studying. We used home depot gift cards and bought bins to organize, and I am almost done with this HUGE project. We moved in in 2009 and I have finally gone through every box we have. My motto is when in doubt, throw it out and if you think you will use it, get rid of it haha (from my Mom) so will hopefully get about 4 or 5 bags to good will this weekend. So far i have 3 of them ready to go. I already got all the cupboards in the kitchen cleaned out last weekend. These busy, time consuming projects help me stay away from spending money and shopping. (And help me to feel organized that is an added benefit.) DH thought I was nuts until recently. He likes that we know where everything is and he can easily find something by just reading the labels on the bins. He has stopped making fun of me about this now! Our foster dog will get adopted this Sunday, so no more extra dog food to buy that will be a big help. So since this weekend looks great, I am sure I am missing something and by Monday I will have a d'oh moment. Ha.

It really is fun and thankfully our league accepts people who are beginners. I have gotten marginally better after 6 years but only playing once a week for a few months during the winter doesn`t give a whole bunch of time improvement.

I have to agree that curling seems like such a fun thing to try.

Not a really big spending weekend (thank goodness).
