Weekend $$ Plans?
Thu, 12-22-2011 - 10:31am

Well its Thursday again.

It is the holiday weekend. Just wondered what everyone is doing? Are you cooking? Being cooked for? Are you ready?

Friday night is just prep. Cooking, cleaning, wrapping.

Me? I'm boring. It's just me, myself, and I. Not even Amy. We're still on break, and I think it's been good for the both of us. So it will be a cheap weekend. No presents. I'll try to work at least a bit.

Yesterday I bought fancy bacon and fancy pasta -- trenne, a shape I'd never seen before. It's like triangular penne. These are treats, I guess. I hope they're yummy. My sister is coming to visit next week, so maybe we can eat them together. (I guess I'll have to do a bit of house cleaning to make the place presentable.)

Happy holidays, everyone! Hope you get lots of hugs and kisses.

Gosh, my first week of vacation is almost finished! It went by too quickly!! I've been busy dejunking the apartment and cooking. Wow, the days are passing quickly!

So here we are: Christmas! Friday night DD begins her holiday and I've got a big surf-and-turf meal planned for her. The lobster tails I bought on sale are enormous and I bought a wonderful bottle of French wine.

Saturday DD and I always go to a mall to watch the Christmas panic. It's a weird tradition we started about 15 years ago and we do it every December 24th. We'll be going out for lunch. In the evening, we'll be with my parents for our traditional Christmas Eve Salmon Wellington. Mmmm.

Christmas Day breakfast at my parents home. We'll leave early (by noon) and then start cooking an entire turkey dinner for ourselves. X-DH is coming over this year and, since his birthday is tomorrow, I'm also baking him a birthday cake (Guiness Chocolate Cake). Tomorrow I will start the mes ensemble. [FYI, my daughter starting to use the phrase "mes ensemble" for the pre-cooking activities. I love it and have now started using the phrase myself. It makes me feel like a chef!]

I'm hoping that, at some point, I will have time to relax!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

DH is officially off Friday, but I work probably most of the day (I never know until the last minute).

I can' t believe how Christmas snuck up on us :)
I'm in the office today until about 3 and then I have to drive to the airport to pick up little sister (okay she's 25 but she'll always be little sister to me).

Tonight and tomorrow are cleaning and wrapping. My house looks like a bomb exploded :(

Sunday morning my mom, sis and I will open presents, have breakfast and I will start cooking. I'm hosting BF's family for lunch, and then we're headed to my cousin's place for dinner. And that's all the plans I have!! I have to work one day next week so I almost have 10 days off in a row!! So excited!

I've been sick and poor and complaining for most of the week, but today I finally woke up in the Christmas mood!! Yay!

It's gonna be a kind of low key Christmas this year with my family.
