I am not working this weekend! Its about time my boss gave me the whole weekend off! She can be such a &@$#* sometimes LOL!

Friday night we have to go to DH's staff Christmas party. It should be fun. I am assuming we don't have to pay for anything but this is the first party with this job so I really don't know. A bonus would be nice! LOL, but also not expected.

Lol then you should come on down too! Lol we can do a DSG reunion in Niagara Falls . . . and yes, there are all the wine tours you could imagine! Indvidual (winery based), limo tours (they take you to a few), self guided bike tours (I don't recommend this one, biking after sampling at a few wineries is a challenge . . .)

At first I was jealous of all this family activity, as I generally have to spend the holidays alone, but then I realized I could go get a copy of the latest CD release of my GF Amy Winehouse. Sure, she tells me she's no good, but I love her. She can touch me emotionally in ways that some of my past GFs could not. So we'll live it up.

Yes, so I guess I'm planning to spend a bit of money on a CD. This is her posthumous release, *Lioness*. It's only a taste of what could have been, and I feel this loss.

Count me in - I love going to the falls and when I lived in NE Ohio our ski club would always go at New Years staying in Buffalo, ski Kissing Bridge and the weekend always included a winter walk of the American side of the Falls.
In 2008 DH and I went on our honeymoon and did a B & B at Niagra on the lake and found some awesome ice wines!

For 2012 we did put one trip a month into our budget! Comes from our savings in groceries not having kids at home!

Niagara on the lake is one of my favourite places in the whole world (hello Christmas store!!!). I'm not a huge icewine fan, but the Niagara college makes an amazing one!

I swear I'll drive up from Montreal just to go back to Niagara Falls and get some ice wine again!

DSG Niagara Falls reunion? Oh my, wouldn't that be a blast!!! Ah, I smell a new sinking fund!

We will have to find a way to get PoorbBoy to join us. He needs a to spend less time with Amy Winehouse and more time with girls who are alive. I mean, what could be more fun than spending the weekend with a bunch of broke, cash-only, debt-busting women? ;-)

I am afraid most women, debt-busting or not, are going to have trouble competing with Amy. She has the combination of talent, self-destructiveness, vulnerability, and drama that draws me in like a moth to a flame. I feel intensely when I watch her performances. I weep. I am destroyed. I go back to her again and again. It's so taxing that I cannot do it very often. Yes, she is able to inhabit the music like no one else, as many critics have said, but much more than that, she is both me and the part of me that is missing. Almost no one in my life understands this relationship. An exception perhaps is my yoga teacher, who told me that Amy is no good for me. I knew that; she had a whole song about it ("You Know I'm No Good"). Yes, I talk about her as if she were alive. Somehow Amy and I exist in the moment, with no past or future.

But Naigara sounds fun, Kate. It might break the budget, though. I'm not even planning to see family over the holidays. I never used to think this way, but now I have to, thanks to you guys.

LOL, poorboy2011, you're hilarious! I would listen to your yoga teacher...

(And sorry you can't see your family over the holidays ... but I'm happy you're keeping your eye on the bottom line!)
