Good news, my companions! It turns out the necessary repairs on my car were covered by the warranty, and though the shop suspected my car might have other problems (which would not be covered by the warranty), they turned out to be wrong. I celebrated with a burger.
I know eventually I'll be hit with some other financial setback, but I'm glad it's later rather than now. My emergency fund is still rather diminutive. It will be a while before I reach the recommended minimum amount of $1,000.

Enjoy your rumba classes!! I used to take ballroom dance, which included rumba, cha-cha and a couple of others. I enjoyed it immensely, it is such a good stress reliever!

Thanks, Kate & Karen! The rumba lesson was good, though I had a rather bad headache afterwards, perhaps from the lighting in the room. I surprised myself in how well I can shake my butt (i.e., the "Cuban motion").
I think I'll be able to save the minimum for my emergency fund by... October. Blech. At that point the forbearance for a debt will be over and repayment will kick in. I'll have to rethink my budget then, probably.
