Got a few groceries.  No eating out and I made my lattes at home.  Did get take out, but chineese at Safeway really doesn't cost much more, if any at all, then dinner at home.

I did well, I had extra left in my weekly allowance even after putting in my $1/week of the year envelope. I have most of the bills already paid for this month, so overall we are in pretty good shape. Now, if DH would reign his skydiving/wind tunnel habit in, we'd be all set...

Aryl, does he jump or only do the wind tunnel?  I am too chicken to jump.  Thought about it, but decided it is not for me.  Would love to find one of the wind tunnels.

He does both. He has his class 2 license (I think that's what its called) to jump alone and has to jump at least once every 30 days to keep it current. They opened a wind tunnel not far from us about 6 months ago, and he was going to work on some specific skills. He was going every week, at the tune of about $175 a week for 10 minutes (pick your jaw up off the ground now), but he's at a point where he's not learning anything new, so he's only going every other week or once a month. He wants to get to the point where he can actually be an instructor, that's what he is hoping to "do in retirement", so we'll see. I am glad he has found a release of sorts for stress, but I have a hard time with the expense of it given our debt, our need for me to have a newer car in the next 9 months, and a kid in college we aren't giving much help to.

Ok....I bought couches.....I get them this week for the new house. Why not enjoy them now. I got a really good deal. I am on the hunt for new kitchen chairs and then bar stools then I swear up and down I am done buying new things. We won't get the bar stools until I can measure for height so that may not be until we get the house. I am considering making curtains like one person suggested. We may need a few blinds but we should be good for the new house. I will buy things for the bathrooms we don't have with my grocery points. We will not have a finished baasement or garage but will save up to do things in those areas one at a time. (all this is with cash by the way, no credit card debt)

Ok I have come clean....I can go now lol!

Our couch is old and beat up and came from Freecycle. My teenager keeps complaining about it but we've got other priorities right now. January hasn't been cheap so far. Dog was under the weather so off to the vet - $145. It was dh's birthday yesterday and along with that he had to renew his driver's license. They now require a formal eye exam so off to the vision center. For his birthday he gets bifocals! Our regular health insurance gave him a free eye exam, and paid 40% of the eyeglasses which I think is a very good deal. Except for one time, my experience is that vision insurance is worthless and regular plans give discounts a lot anyway. Still, our cc debt is much better - even got 2 offers in the mail and I haven't gotten any of those in a while! (and no we never accept)

I am doing really well...I started Jan 1 with $100 spending money and still have $70. We only ate out once but we used a gift certificate. Bills came in from last month's extravagence and it was WAY less than I thought/put in the budget. I so happy about that.

We have $200 set aside for the boys room but I think I'll get a new mattress as well since we have the EF back. Next month is going to be pricey when all these bills come in.

Hi All, I am trying to get my spending under control :) I got rid of the debt and started to spend a little too much. Now my one doggie has a chipped tooth and will be going to the vet next week. Minimum $500 up to $1100 depending on what the x-ray says. I have been spending WAY to much on eating out and crap. So this week I got my allowance and still have $10 left. I ate out once with a friend and that took the lions share, but aside from that I have been eating at home. I am trying to drop 15 lbs before April (4 down so far!!!) and eating at home definitely helps the cause, lol. I have my Dad and step mom coming over for dinner on Saturday. I think I am going to make chicken parmesean because I have most of the ingredients on hand aside from some stuff to make a salad.
