Accountability 1/21

How was everyone's weekend? I was home sick for most of it which meant too much eating out (to the tune of $75 over the weekend!) So now I have $40 unti Friday but limited food options. Oh well, My own fault. I'll have to stock up on some essentials!

I also bought a bath mat and furnace filters. $25 from the house fund.

So my debt is as follows:

Car Loan as of 01/14/2013: 6895.94

Car Loan as of 01/21/2013: 6764.19

Difference: $131.75

Student Loan as of 01/14/2013: $19,050.21

Student Loan as of 01/21/2013: $19,068.62

Difference: + $18.41 (this is because interest is calculated daily. I made the payment on Friday so it will show up at next week's check in :)

HELOC as of 01/14/2013: 12,369.56

HELOC as of 01/21/2013: 12,098.16

Difference: $271.40

Total debt as of Jan 6, 2013: $38,592.31

Total debt as of Jan 14, 2013: $38,315.71

Total debt as of Jan 21, 2013: $37,930.97

Difference from last week: $$384.74

Difference from start of year: $661.34

I also have $1125 in my efund and $1300 in my sinking funds. I am going to make 2013 the year of the debt wipe out!

Looking good Bex!

I worked most of the weekend and had a fish fry for my in laws Sunday night. I spent  $7.00 on allowance for the boys. I just didn't have much cash on me, but turns out they went to their grandparents anyway. I will give them more next week.

$500 extra on the roof loan.

Have a great frugal week everyone.

We had a really good weekend.  I used a gift card to get my hair done on Sat., had to cover up the gray!  We went out to the reservoir & played on the ice & snow Sat with friends & BBQ hamb at friends & all it cost me was a bag of chips & dip.  Sunday we hibernated made a homemade pizza for lunch & stir fry chicken for dinner.  I have stew in the crockpot today for dinner tonight.  My DH made me a new desk top for home & we used 2 drawer file cabinets for each end both of the file cabinets were given to us so it was a very cheap fix.  It turned out wonderful & now I have more room to do my volunteer treasurers job for church!  I was so cramped before but now I love sitting at my desk & using the computer.  We are going on a long weekend getaway Feb 2nd & we have $600 cash saved for that & already paid for the Styx concert tickets that we get to see while we are there.  We got our room & flight paid for so we are set.  This is a super busy time at work so I am really looking forward to getting away for 3 nights.  We are having our 30th anniversary May 1st & I'm trying to come up with something fun for us to do.  My DH is a diehard CO Avalanche fan & since the hockey strike just ended we could go see a hockey game in person on April 27th there is a game in Denver, we've never been to a game. We could drive there Friday afternoon/evening (8 hr drive) & then spend Fri & Sat night there & drive home Sunday.  I'm thinking this would be a wonderful surprise for my DH so I think I might go on line & see if I can get some reasonable tickets.  He would be so thrilled!!!

Have a good & frugal week!

Let's see....

$23 on pizza for DD13 birthday party.  Plus chips, dip and drinks.  $15 at the most for that.  Plus some groceries for a total of $32 at the grocery store.  $13 on propane.  I think that was it.

It was, overall, a pretty quiet weekend.

Friday we went out for dinner ($70 for the three of us) at DD's favorite place.  Saturday DD had a birthday party ($20 for a present and a card) but I had that already accounted for in this payday's spending I also had to pay for her dance lessons ($35).  Saturday was also grocery shopping day ($60).  Sunday DD and I went to the pool (free, as we have a Y membership) and then we watched football in the afternoon and evening.

The weekend was not too bad!  I took the kids to Toys R Us and they used their gift cards from Christmas.  I then took them out for lunch ($23) at was a great time, really.  We were still missing hubby, but I realized we haven't done anything like this in a good long time.  It was great to see the smiles on their faces.  My 13 year old and 3 year old put together a birdhouse was just so sweet to watch.  Saturday, I took a dear friend out for coffee ($9) and Sunday, hubby and I did our big Sams CLub run, stopped for a quick lunch at Wendys and went to CVS to take advantage of the, around $300.  We are well stocked for awhile.  Yesterday, my oldest had one of her friends over...a guy friend who has been her best friend for 3 years already. Still hard to believe I have a 16 year old already.  She isn't interested in dating, nor is her friend (so she says- their body language tells another story)  but I still keep an eye on them!  (From at least a room away, of course.)

Once again we had a good weekend.  I spent $50 on myself, OOPS!  But I think I was overdue some things.  We did spend a little too much on food, but both DH & I are watching our diets closely and you know how much more expensive fresh fruits and healthy foods are.  Still we are both doing very well.

Life is GOOD!

P.S.  Son turned 31 this past weekend....feeling a little OLD!

Wow, a LOT of January birthdays here :)

I had mine last week and DS1 is turning 5 today.

We spent $100 on NHL tickets, $6 for treats at the game & $23 for parking. Took DS1 to the toy store w/his birthday money & out for pizza at our fave place ($50). Then Sun we cooked and cleaned so no money spent. It was much needed as I've been spending money eating out on my long days.

Spent $50 last weekend to fill up the tank and drive 2.5 hours to see my BF. We see each other about every other weekend. But he pays for everything when we're together so it balances out and I stay the whole weekend. Stormydancer, what NHL tickets did you get? BF and I bought tickets to the Feb 1 Wings/Blues game. I'm so happy to have a season again!
