Bex I'm so glad you posted! I love to watch your totals go down, you are doing so great! Plus you motivate me.

I am going to have to take money out of the house fund, the savings. I knew I was going to have to . I did agree to the registering the motor cycle this year. We didn't know about the repair but it is what it is. May has been super spendy with lots of little things coming up too.

I think i need to be less hard on myself here. Looking from the outside I should be thrilled we were even able to put any money in that account this year and not go into debt with me not working. I have not worked for a year.  Its just really difficult to see money in there and then have to take it out. I have been preparing myself for it but doing and quite soon is emotional.

I will be back to work full time in a month for 6 weeks and it will be exhausting but at least we will be able to put some of that money back.

One step at a time to our road of dreams. This money we have to do a shuffle back wards but hopefully July and August will be forward over all!

I think you BOTH are quite inspirational.

Bex - I love your organization and your follow thru on tracking things.  It really helps me to stay on track too.

Karen - Honestly, you ARE too hard on yourself.  You've done an amazing job.  I'm in awe of everything you've been able to accomplish.

I've been having a couple of tough weeks.  Car repairs, more car repairs . . . they just don't stop.  My 2003 Ford Focus has had very few issues since I got it, but when it does have an issue it takes FOREVER to figure out and get fixed.

And now we had a tree damaged in a storm that is going to cost us $650 to make safe again.  This is coming from our emergency fund.  There is no other fund I can use for it.  But I guess that's why it's there, right?

At the end of this month, we are visiting our dd out of state.  So we are suspending all debt repayment this month to pay for the trip.  Honestly, this makes me sick to my stomach, especially given the other expenses  (car, tree, graduations, etc . . .) we've recently had.  And we're already in the hole for our discretionary spending for next week.  Ugh, how in the world do people do this???  I've got to get out of this funk. I mean, if I'm committed to going on this vacation, then I should at least enjoy myself, right?

Oh yeah . . .

Current debt (student loan) = $15,701.45

Principal paid YTD = $9,068.51

I know its the end of the week, YAY to TGIF!  But I need to check in, I love this board & this thread so we need to keep it going.  I'm listening to Dave Ramsey again on the radio, I had kinda quit listening but he always has wonderful advice so I'm listening again.  About the only thing I'm concentrating on right now is paying down the mortgage.  I did put an additional $50 into EF savings & still have a cushion in the checkbook.  Our mortage WILL be gone in Dec 2013.  We have started talking about how & what we want to invest in starting next year.  I think we'll set up retirement savings at $400/mth & then start stockpiling cash to invest in possibly a property.  But we want to pay cash for the investment property (think rental) so it will take us a few years to save up to do this.  That is ok because we need to do our research & make sure we are both on the same page.  But for sure I think we agree NO MORE DEBT!!!  Have a wonderful weekend.
