Good Morning everyone.
How did you do this weekend? Did you spend more than planned or keep it frugal?
My Youngest son turned 13. I took him for dinner and a movie. Some time just with him was so nice! $60, plus a $50 birthday cash gift. He put the money in his bank account. I have taught him well!
Other than that, I don't think we spent anything. However, I need some groceries and Costco run this week so that will be pricey.
DH got a charge taken off his amex from some computer company that keep charging him. I am proud of him! He rarely does things like that. I find it helps if I equate the amount of money to what he could buy in beer that he is missing out on lol! HEY, whatever works!
Thank goodness we are over ear infections(medication $30) and the flu here with everyone! I need spring so bad. I wrote out what I want to plan in my garden and put it on my fridge.
Have a good week everyone!

We made it thru our granddaughters 1st birthday! It was a fun filled day but this gramma is glad its over. It was celebrated at our house so lots of work went along with it plus I'm battling a cold & migraine. The year sure flew by. We got the quote on our new roof $6500, about $1500 more than we were hoping but we do have the $ set aside. However, we want to tackle our bathroom as well so we'll see how much that will cost us. Glad spring is on its way, I think the weather kinda turned & we are getting 40 - 50 degree weather now. I can handle that!! Heading to the gym tonight, going to try to sweat this headache & cold away. Have a good & frugal week everyone!

Well, I got all of my homework done early, so we made an impromptu trip on the bike to the coast. We splurged and spent the night. It was just shy of 60 degree and no rain, so we had to take advantage!!!
I paid for two meals that were around $60 total. SO paid for one meal and the room.
Microwave and groceries $116.00. I won't tell you how much I spent on a carton of smokes.
I went to an Usborne party and only spent $70 on educational books for the boys. That is pretty good considering I wanted to spend more...but I have another party next month.
Dh and I shared a 6 pack of beer on Sat night after he worked a long shift. It was $12.
And I took the kids to McDonalds after the soccer tournament $16. It was DS1's first "real" outdoor game. He scored 10 goals in 2 games.
That wasn't too bad!

The only money I spent was on groceries ($50) and new sheets for DD for her big girl bed ($12). Other than that we were either in the house so I could unpack or on a bike ride or at the playground.

Oh geezzee, what a week. I did put $277.28 toward the SL debt . . . but . . . it sure was a pricey weekend for me. I budget $240 weekly for "discretionary" spending to cover everything from entertainment, groceries, vet bills, dental checkups, (basically everything that isn't a fixed monthly bill) etc . . . And we went over this amount by $136 this week. That's a lot over, and I have a vet appointment for the cat tomorrow (to get her annual shots) so that will be another $86. (I have some cushion built into my checking account to cover.) So it will be more rice and beans and beans and rice for the next few weeks until I catch up again.
I don't know if it's this darn grey, crappy weather . .. or that the debt I'm trying to pay down isn't actually mine (and I remain frustrated with my grown dd's attitude - not just about money) . . . I'm just having such a hard time remaining motivated to stay on financial track.
And now . . . I have to make a HUGE confession . . . 'cause I don't see any reason to lie to you guys . . . I just signed my hubby and myself up for $2,000 worth of sailing lessons (three days/2 nights out on the water with a certified sailing instructor). I feel strongly that we NEED to be safe out on the water with our new boat. So this really is a matter of being responsible . . . BUT . . . obviously no one NEEDS to sail at all.
Bascially this translates to 5 weeks of NOT paying down the SL debt.
Ouch.
