Hi Nessie!

Congratulations on baby Boo! We are having a baby too. July 15th is the due date. We are very excited! We are starting over with buying all the baby items too as my other children are 12 and 15(new marriage last June!)

I'm sorry I don't know much about your tax question or withholding. Perhaps someone will chime in.

Don't forget about buying all the baby gear in cash while saving for your efund. How exciting to be able to pay down the mortgage after baby comes and getting rid of the motorcycle loan. What a great way to start things! We will still have a truck loan but our car loan will be paid off and I am super excited about that. Will you have two cribs on the go? Will you need a double stroller? Are there any 2nd hand shops arounds for baby items? That might be worth looking into. I am done about 2/3rds of my list for baby gear. Some of it is 2nd hand, and I have been shopping for sales since we found out in November for the things we will need. I had a girlfriend loan me some maternity clothes, boy am I grateful and I have bought a few items. I am not really looking forward to hot weather!

Congrats to you too!!! Do you know what you are having? Names picked out?

All baby gear will be purchased with cash. We will get Gideon a new dresser, and his will get passed down to Boo. We will also get a new convertible crib, car seat, and I think that is it, besides cloths. My cousin is letting me borrow her swing, we still have the pack N play, and tons of little toys laying around. I think I still have my maternity cloths, so that shouldn't be a issue.

We still have two in Diapers, as Thumper refuses to potty train. I cloth diaper though, so I just need some more covers for Boo and that is all set! So much better for the budget!

Thank-you!

How did you figure out how much you change your allowance to? I don't want us to end up owing next year, but at the same time, I'm having a hard time seeing that happening.

Thanks!!! It does feel like things are falling right into place.

I am scare that is what is going to happen to us! I don't want to pay in, but don't want to loan Uncle Sam all that money interest free! I want it where I believe it belongs.

Thanks!

How do you figure out if you can itemize. My mom told me that they can't, but I don't understand all this tax stuff. Maybe I should invest into reading up on tax law, but its just not something I'm particularly interested in. I hope that we can right off our interest on the house, as it should be close to 10K this year, hopefully less. Plus NY state taxes for property aren't cheap.

As for nursing Thumper, yep! Well I'm starting the weaning process. Gideon ended up really sick and in the hospital this last week. I stopped eating in the process of driving back and forth to the hospital, stress, and just trying to deal with everything. So she has not nursed in 24 hours. She has been asking, but I haven't allowed her. I was going to wean once we were in the new house, but a couple of days earlier won't kill anything. I'm actually having a really hard time with it. :-(

Oh Congrads Vanessa!
Wow $7k refund, you will probably pay higher state taxes in NY too, so that will come off, as well as the 3rd child.
