Do you balance your checkbook often?  How often do you do it?  Daily? Weekly? Monthly?  What works for you and your family?

Checkbook?  What is that?  ;-)  Seriously, everything else is pretty much done with electronic bill pay, I probably write no more than 10 checks a year.

Hmmm. Perhaps I should have said "how often do you balance your bank account?" :) I don't write many checks either these days. :)

That's the beauty of electronic bill pay (at least with the free version from my credit union).  The funds are sent to the payee and there is no lag time to wait for the checks to be cashed.  (Don't you hate people sitting on checks)?

So basically I do it at least one a month, paying various bills and stashing money into savings accounts and what not.  During the month, maybe I log on a few times just to check, and that's about it.  Piece of cake!  ;-)

I balance my checking/savings account once a month just to make sure things are in order. I would rather not become a victim of an ATM or online scam.

Every day of my life, without fail. DH and I use our debit card for almost everything (he keeps a very modest amount of cash for stops at the C-store or lunches), but I've used debit exclusively for about five years now. We track our spending (every penny, seriously) and manage a detailed budget - so balancing the accounts is critical to staying on track.
