We have satellite as cable wasn't available out here when we moved in, and we've gotten used to it... Too used to it to change now. Not a fan of streaming ... We buy DVDs for film and I DVR television if I want to shift-view...

I haven't paid for cable or satellite in ages because it was either included in my rent or I was fine with regular old analog broadcasting. Well now that tv service isn't included in my rent and the government forced digital broadcasting on everyone it looks like I'll have to buy a basic cable package which from what I've seen is around 20 bucks a month.

Sure I can stream plenty of things on the internet, but you don't get local channels that way and I feel extremely disconnected without local news and public access channels. I tried one of those converter boxes with the proper antennas and the results were disastrous. In fact I'd argue that it was worse than the old school analog channels with all the tinfoil and wire coat hangers.

I my apartment building, we have everthing included in our rent, and we have whatever is cheaper, Cable or Satellite, we have one empty apartment, so our Satellite bill is higher right now; until we have a full building.
