Some people have a no shoe rule for their guests when they visit. :smileysurprised:

Do you think it's okay to do this? :smileyfrustrated:

Provided their floor is clean enough to walk around without shoes, I am along the line of "their house, their rule".

Most of my friends are childless or with grown children, so that's not a problem.

We usually take our shoes off and put them on the rack by the front door. It isn't a rule, but more of a habit. We definitely do not require it of our guests, but most see our shoes and take theirs off. I make sure to let them know that it's not necessary.

It's funny, there was an article about this recently - What Are the Rules at Your House - and right after reading it I went to someone's house for dinner, wearing ballet flats with no socks. Well they had a "no shoes" rule and I felt really uncomfortable being barefoot. I made sure to dress accordingly the next time we went to someone's house...just in case!

Just like to share an idea:

I went to a "no shoe" house on Christmas day and took along a pair of those socks with non-skid bottoms and put them on after taking off the shoes.
