How far will you go to be thrifty?

Evidently there has been some controversy over on Pinterest, surrounding this photo:

In an attempt to be thrifty, someone has come up with a way to use cheaper wax in a Scentsy brand warmer. Others are saying it voids the warranty and shouldn't be done.

How far will you go to be thrifty? Would you be willing to do something that would void your warranty?

I don't think I would, unless I was really sure I knew how to do it. My husband, on the other hand, is willing to try anything to save a buck! He took our dishwasher apart in November and we ended up having to call a repairman!

Sounds like false economy and potentially a fire hazard to me!

I avoid all those parties like the plague because I'm too cheap to buy those things. Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Silpada, Candlelight, you name it.

It seems like the most frugal thing to do would be to not buy Scentsy products. Sure they're nice and they make your home smell good, but if you're truly strapped for cash thats a luxury you can live without.

On an expensive item with a solid warranty I'm not interested in doing anything that may void it. Now when the warranty has expired I will do what I wish.

I usually do too, but my older sister invited me to a Pampered Chef party; she lives in a nursing home and it made her day.
