New Year's Friday Five

It's the last weekend of 2012, it's hard to believe.

Did you like this year?

What were some things you wish hadn't happened?

Do you have any good memories from this year?

Where will you spend New Year's Eve?

Do you make resolutions or do you believe in them?

Did you like this year?   A lot of things changed for the better this year, but it was still rough.

What were some things you wish hadn't happened?  I wish temp work had been more consistent and better paying.

Do you have any good memories from this year?  I started grad school, got a new car, and lost weight.

Where will you spend New Year's Eve?  At home alone.  (things with that guy fizzled out badly....I'm trying not to be bitter about it).

Do you make resolutions or do you believe in them?  I don't make resolutions for the new year, but I do make long term goals whenever I feel the need to.  I have a handful of goals in progress such as school, improving my finances, becoming happily coupled, and improving my spiritual wellbeing.

I share your goal of becoming happily coupled, I think I'm in that process right now.   Kiss

I'm glad you  got a new car, and lost weight.  Smile

What kind of car did you get?  Cool

It's a 2003 GM something or other (I stopped listening after learning it ran lol) and it was a gift from a relative that has been reconnecting with the family. I kept waiting for there to be strings, but there have been none. What's funny was my old car that was falling apart was a 2001 so I expected this 2003 to basically tide me over for 6 months, but it had less than 60k miles on it! And it was so well maintained that I couldn't be more grateful. Considering my 90 min (one way!) commute to school a few times a week and temp work that is pushing me further and further out in the suburbs this car is exactly what I needed. My mechanic says with regular servicing it'll last me a few years, which is just what I wanted to hear. As for the happily coupled part? Well I'm still a bit sore from the last go round, but I'm determined to get back out there. I signed up for an online dating site that claims to be geared toward relationship minded people and so far seems to be living up to that claim. I haven't met anyone yet, but I'm talking to 2 guys that seem nice and to have long term potential. There are also a couple of speed dating events happening in the next two months so I'm considering trying that again. And ummm sinclairwife.... I thought you already were happily coupled? You have frequently mentioned talking to a special guy or did I misinterpret that? Unless by happily coupled you mean taking it a step further and getting engaged? Ooohhhh do tell!

Yes, we've been talking about going one step closer.  These phone calls are getting to be expensive.  KWIM

On Christmas my nephew an my dad whisked me to my parents' house for the day, I hadn't heard from my guy yet so I called him from there.   We all told him Merry ChristmasSurprised he was surprised. We'll see what the next few days bring.  Smile

Have you looked into google voice? I started using it as my personal number about a year ago and it's been wonderful. No more long distance charges and I can forward my calls to any phone I want without having to disclose where I am. There is a small charge for international calls, but from what I understand it is much cheaper than most phone companies.
