Sometimes I gift things that have been previously owned.  I might buy them at a thrift store, yard sale, auction or from ebay.  I've found that I  like to find things that are unique or something specific the person really want.   I never buy thing that show wear or is  not in excellent condition.  I also make a number of gifts I give.  I'm not a mall person but I will buy when there are really good sales.

I buy all year long, keeping an eye on sales. I also have been known to add things into my Amazon cart that I want to buy, and then check out on those items that go down in price. I've saved quite a bit that way!
