I am making a big pot of fried cabbage and I added 2 pork steaks to it to give it more flavor, I was going to make corned beef brisket, but the price  changed my mind.  I sampled some of it already, it tastes yummy.

Do you ever switch out ingredients to fit your budget? Surprised

I do this from time to time.  I generally make up a menu each Sunday before I go grocery shopping.  Sometimes that menu gets changed up at the store, depending on the price of the ingredients I need.  I've been known to cancel something out completely if the price is too high (especially when it comes to meat).  I've also switched things out if I find a really good deal.

Hi Grace, Welcome to Frugal Living, it's great to meet you! Smile

I tend to eat more veggies, I like them better, but if I make vegetale stew or cabbage soup, a bit of protein is a nice touch.  I like hot sauce in it too!  Surprised

What seasonings do you use most? Undecided
