messenger tree seedpod

Anyway, these baseball or bigger things fall from the messenger tree. I've tried freezing, burying in sand, sun-drying. Forgot to bring my cans of drying stuff and nothing like that is available. I wonder if salt would work? The center is really sticky and those tiny sugar ants love these pods!

Do you think it could be embedded in resin? Agriculture Department won't let one off the islands unless it's dry!

And they are sooooooooo beautiful!

Did you figure out how to dry them? I was going to suggest hanging them, but you mentioned that the ants love them. They don't sell the stuff you use for drying out there? Salt might work, or if you can get it, silca might also work.
