Do you stagger planting?

I'm planning to go get my seeds this weekend since I found a local place with heirloom seeds. I'm thinking of staggering the planting of some things like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower so I'm not harvesting it all at once. My tomatoes and cucumbers seem to produce throughout the summer, so they're okay.

Have you tried doing this? Were the results good? How long did you wait between planting seeds? I was thinking 3 or 4 days.

I have in the past, when I had a longer growing season, but I usually staggered two weeks apart...

I know it SHOULD work here but given the strange weather we have had the past several summers, I count it lucky to get any crop off my first planting, let alone a second or third! LOL And when you are planting in post like I do now, not a lot of space for staggering...

Cabbage, lettuce, peas, broccoli...all too late here in the Delta.
