I'm thnking of planting a long narrow planter (think window box shape) and putting various herbs in it this season. If anything gets too big, I'll transplant outside. Keeping them small is key to indoor gardening. Thanks for the link!

I saw another idea (on Pinterest maybe) to make upside-down planters (kind of like they do with tomatoes) using (decorated) coffee cans, and hang them in front of your kitchen window. It looked really nice, but I'm not sure how you'd water them?
