Since my hiatal hernia, I can't start my gas push mower anymore.

I have NEVER mowed lawn! {blush} We had one of those reel mowers that DH used for awhile, then we inherited an electric one. He never complained about it, but it did seem like a bit of a pain to make sure you didn't mow the cord or anything.

I have had my electric mower for a few years. I've had 2 lawn mowers of my own...yes, my own! Dh and dd both get bad allergies from grasses or something and it wasn't worth their suffering for days to have them mow the yard, so for Mother's Day one year (like 20 years ago) I asked for a gas mower that was easy to start. That mower eventually starting having mechanical problems and was getting harder to start so I thought about an electric model. Our county has (or had) an annual program where the Air Quality Resources Board kicks in for the price of a non-polluting mower but the deal is that you have to give them your gas mower and pay a fraction of the retail price. So a few years ago on the day before Mother's Day my dh took the gas mower and got in line at 7am at the county building. Eventually he got to the front of the line and purchased a Black and Decker rechargeable electric mower, so no power cord to worry about.

I agree with so many of your points...buying gas, storing gas, oil changes, blah, blah, blah...It's SO EASY to just plug it in and go.
