Read this interesting article on NPR...

Pipe Down! That Noise Might Affect Your Plants.

We have powerlines going right over our property and I always wonder if that affects our garden. It doesn't seem to bother the animals. We've got plenty of them to go around!

We were really hesitant to buy this house because of the power line, but didn't really find anything online that was conclusive. We decided the only reason we could afford a house in this location was *because* of the power line, so we took our chances and went for it. We also don't plan to live here forever, so I think that helped in our decision.

The city had to buy out a whole subdividion here, that was built at the end of the runway at Elvis Memphis International Airport.

OMGosh I'd be worried too! Did you ever find out what they were doing? You might have a leg up when the zombiepocalypse happens. :-)

We have a Navy base here, a huge National Guard air facility, and we are #5 on the list for important targets to nuke by unfriendly forces.

We actaully lost a sale of our California house because a high-tension power line runs over one border of our lot and a gas line runs under it! Not sure if it wwas the gas line that was the issue or the power line but the second person who offered on that house (and nickle-dimed us enough to make us pull it off the market) was an electric company employee and they had some tests done to be sure the lines weren't emitting some sort of death rays! They weren't --- or they didn't care (if the latter, it was the ONLY thing they didn't care about! LOL)

Hmmm --- wonder if living under those lines for 16+ years is why I am the way I am today? LOL

I saw a follow-up on that report and apaprenlty it's not so much that the plants are bothered but that the animals that feed on the, pollinate them, control them are...

It's your radiant personality, Carol, you got it from the power lines!
