What yarn do you enjoy working with?

Do you have projects you take on the go?

Do you have a yarn stash or do you purchase by the project?

What is the one item you have always wanted to make, but haven't yet? Tell us about it!

I hope you are having a terrific day!  Happy Knitting & Crocheting!

I like wool & alpaca for the way they feel as I work. But I generally make toys to be washable (acrylic). I'm not a brand snob.

On the go, lately it's been mostly the spinning, because my knit & crochet projects are getting too complicated to do while other stuff is going on.

I tried not to have a stash, but those things creep up on you. I bought a real expensive yarn (paco-vicuña) and have been afraid to work with it. I inherited some stuff that was too good to give away. I bought some cheap stuff for making toys and then got interested in other stuff. And I got some a couple skeins of Red Lion glittery holiday stuff, and only used a little so far. And several skeins of sock yarn that need JUST the right pattern...

I'm kind of thinking now of making something cool to wear. I want a newsboy hat, or a lacy vest/pullover. But the queue and the stash are long, and I don't know when I'll get to it.

I have not worked with alpaca before but I hear it is extremely soft. I like to make toys and baby items washable too! That stash thing does creep up on you! When we moved here...I could not believe how much yarn I have. I am going to work from my stash as much as possible this year. I have a couple of skeins of sock yarn waiting for the right pattern...I have been looking at the Willow Cowl on Ravelry. A newsboy hat or vest/pullover sound like great projects!

I just got in some wonder wool from Luna Grey and I love it! I do have a few projects in my to go bag...one ruffle scarf, a simple cowl and the Plain Vest for my granddaughter. I have a crazy stash and am planning to work from it as much as possible this year. I have been working on a tunisian crochet mitered square blanket. I also want to make a few cardigans for myself.
