I find myself wanting to move past the dishcloth, scarf, hat and cowl projects?

What I've knit the most of is socks. You can always use another pair, there's lots of different patterns with different techniques if you want a challange, and it impress people out of all proportion to the difficulty.

Thanks! I have been thinking about making socks. I have size 0 dpn's and a couple of skeins of sock yarn. May have to take up that challenge after I finish my WIPs.

Mittens would be a great project too! I could go for a faster project sometimes.

Angie, I really love knitting smaller projects and lately I've been pretty into baby sweaters for gifts, they usually work up pretty quickly. I attempted socks a few months ago, and I'll try them again soon (I messed up the lace pattern on the cuff right away and frogged)

Also, I really want to knit an sweater for myself and a blanket for DS.

I like smaller projects too! I love making hats and booties for baby gifts. I really should attempt a sweater.

Today I have been thinking about making pillow covers. I have some 1970s orange pillows and I would love to cover them and use them on my couch. :)

A sweater and blanket for DS sound like great ideas of things to knit!

Well, dishcloths and scarves are what I've knit the most, lol.

I did make a sweater once with thick yarn and large needles.

There are only two skills necessary for socks. Round knitting (on SOMETHING)

I like knitting dishcloths & scarves too! I have never attempted a lapghan, but would love too. I would definitely need to use large needles so it didn't take forever. My MIL makes the nicest basket weave lapghans and shawls. How awesome that you made a sweater. I would like to make a pullover or some article of clothing one day as well. So many projects, so little time. ;)

I honestly love knitting socks. I'm finally knitting myself a second pair after making a bunch of socks for other people. Once you've knit the first pair, it's easier after that.

Heather, that is really encouraging!

I frogged my first socks the first time and after a few months and clearing my head I'm attempting again! wish me luck!

Thanks for the encouragement Heather. I am going to have to give them a try when the weather is warmer and I have stopped making afghans.
