my swh. I can make them long or short. My first one is the short one and will see how he likes it. I love these short easy projects. I never knew there was such a thing as fingerless gloves. Been looking at the crochet projects book for ideas.

Can't wait to hear what he thinks of the fingerless gloves you make him. I am thinking about making my dd a pair for when she rides horses and it is a bit colder.

Nice. I keep thinking I'll make another pair, but I haven't gotten to it. But sometimes I think what I really want next is a stearing wheel cozy. (That ^&*# thing gets awfully hot in the sun.)    yep they can be hot

Meanwhile I've got this off-white homespun stuff, to do something with. Width varies greatly. Might include coloring first.

Nice hope you find an idea. I am hooked now on making flowers. Maybe because it is quick and easy.

Flowers are nice. Lace is cool. I was just looking up something called "Bruges Lace".     Yes flowers are nice.  I am doing easy ones first.  Lace? that looks hard.

Lace is just organized holes. Crochet is made for lace.  I'm working on a rather large filet lace pattern right now. My geeky background shows, though; instead of talking about meshes & blocks, I call them 0s and 1s.    oh very interesting. Have to use the smaller hook?

Small hook? Not necessarilly, but I think it generally looks better. I have, however, seen (online) a blanket done in filet style with worsted weight yarn. But the cotton thread & hook is surprisingly easy to do. Versus a heavier yarn, there's almost no chance of splitting a stitch.

a blanket in filet style? interesting. I hate splitting stitches.

I got the pattern from this place ..http://crochet.about.com/od/flowermotifs/a/small-crochet-popcorn-stitch-flower-pattern.htm..   They have a few patterns there. I look for the stitches I know and try them out.
