I have been practicing my tunisian simple, knit and purl stitches.  I am thinking about joining a CAL that is doing a baby afghan using these stitches.  Have you made something using the tunisian method? If so, what did you make?

Oops, I meant my friend was struggling with knitting...lol. She is doing much better with tunisian crochet. I started working on the blanket today. I have had to take it out a few times, but I think I may have got it now. :)

I have that magazine and the pattern is beautiful.  Have fun crocheting it.

It hasn't started yet.  I think it is going to start on the 25th.  The pattern is in the February Crochet World magazine and is called Tunisian Mitered-Squares Blanket.  It is beautiful.  My left handed friend is having a difficult time learning to crochet, but she has done well with the tunisian crochet.  :)

Hi Angie,

Are you doing the CAL?

I've got a tunisian hook and I think I made a dishcloth for practice when I first started crocheting.  Maybe I should get that hook back out and try making something.

I have really been enjoying learning these new stitches. I can't wait to get started on the blanket. That sounds like a great afghan pattern.

Years ago I made (still not finished) an afghan using the afghan stitch, which I think is the same as Tunisian crochet. It was worked in different sizes of rectangles and squares and each one had a flower cross-stitched in the middle. It was one of my favorite projects ever. One of these days I will finish it...

A baby afghan sounds like a nice project. Hope you'll post pictures!
