County fairs?  ANG meetings? Stitchathons? Knit in Punlic? Any of these things happening out your way? If so, are you stitching for them?

What are your goals for this week?

Last week, my goals were as follows:

Monday

- a friend is coming by at noon to look at two of my fair winners --- she wants to buy them! === DONE, and she paid me $15 more than I asked!

- I'm calling utilities and insurance agents to cannel contracts/policies on our Sea Ranch House. The sale went through and closes Tuesday. We've already singed all the paperwork. === DONE, sort of. House closed on schedule, Check arrived in next-day mail (now --- where to deposit when teh best rate we can get is one-tenth-of-one-percent!). We still need to deal with capital gains taxes which means we probably will have to start up quarterly payments to both California and the IRS --- waiting to hear from the accountant on that. And while we got the items we wanted from inside the house in the UPS delivery this weekend, the lens cap for DH's retirement-gift telescope is missing (request in with the realotr to do a search)... We've sent the spare keys and parking tags back and are waiting for the hot tub guy to return our call about canceling our cleaning contract. In addition, we are waiting for the rental manager to refund us our rental income he has been holding, the mortagage company to refund our escrow account, and the insurance agent to refund the unused portion of our insurance premiums...

Tuesday

  • - Girls' Night Out - with Janice at least. === NOT DONE --- Janice's brother is in the hospital again and she is, as usual, waering herself out by visiting teh hospital *and* planning a graduation party for her son. Her brother checked himself out against medical advice on Wednesday (about the only thing he was given at that hospital as the doctor/surgeon couldn't seem to find the time to visit him and answer his questions about the surgery they were scheduling for Wednesday AM) and Janice now had *only* that party - for Saturday - to plan. Mary is still in Wyomoing...not a happy situation.
  • - CSA pick-up === DONE

Wednesday

  • - housecleaner comes === DONE
  • - pay bills and balance the accounts  === DONE
  • - haircut === DONE

And stitching!   This is a stitchathon week over at Cross Stitch Crazy === DONE (2723 stitches were put into "Birds of a Feather" between Monday and Sunday) and the weekend coming up is International Hermit and Stitch Weekend === DONE so I hope to put in a lot of time on "Birds of  Feather" !  And there will be the usual new Take a Stitch on Tuesday .=== NOT DONE...  as well kitting out the latest Mitten & Mini-Sock piece === DONE, sort of ( Kitted out but not stitched).  Also received the sixth Color Through the Ages but nothing done with it yet. Nor did I stitch on "Kimono - Revisited".

And I spent a LOT of time transferring Multiply blog data to Weebly and BlogSpot. All my photos are on Weebly now and roughly 18 months of blog posts. One year of blog posts are mirrored on Blogspot. I have a lot yet to do... FYI. The url for my Weebly site is the unmemorable (and un-remember-able): http://210920746822434353.weebly.com while the url for my Blogspot site is: http://carolstitches.blogspot.com. Both blogs are entitled "Carol Stitches"...

This week, things are still a little discombobulated with Mary's absence but...

Monday - need to call pharmacy to refill my prescriptions for pick-up later in the week.

Tuesday

  • - Girls' Night Out , maybe. Depends on Janice
  • - CSA pick-up

Wednesday

  • - housecleaner comes
  • - pay bills and balance the accounts

And stitching!   Catch-up time --- And there will be the usual new Take a Stitch on Tuesday ....  as well last week's, the latest Mitten & Mini-Sock piece and the latest Color through the Ages, to say nothing of "Kimono - Revisited". And of course, "Birds of a Feather"...

Summer vacation is over for the DGrDs, main project of wall hanging is not finished.  They seemed to run out of interest in using decorative stitches on sewing machines, just wanted to let the embroidery machine do the work.  I've packed up their projects to save for full days off when they will be with me.

I've joined the Quilts of Valor local group, plan to attach label dedicating each to memory of our DGrS.  So far I've only picked up fabric, as stores are slashing prices on patriotic cottons.

This was the week I had planned on heading to a gathering of iV women up in MI, but I decided not to go.  The weather here has turned so nice that I just want to hang out in my own yard and ride my motorcycle when I feel like it.

THIS WEEK:

Mon - pre-wash quilt fabrics.  BTW - I usually sew cut ends together prior to washing, but had terrible allergy attack from the finish on the surface.

  also finally did some garden plant cleanup, now that the oppressive heat has let up.

Tues - DH & are going target shooting mid AM, then I will start pressing the quilt cottons.

        Take advantage of local cosmetology school's mini-spa special - facial, hairstyle, makeup - $35.

Weds - Back to doing muscle workout with Jane Fonda.  I am so achey in the AM, hate to do this, but do feel so much better afterwards.

Thurs -  Since I no longer have GrDs all day on Thurs, I can go back to house cleaning after DH vacuums & mops in the AM.

        Bake birthday cake for youngest DS, plus peach pies from eldest DSs tree.

Fri - Quilt planning in AM

        pick up GrDs after school l& we will decorate the cake

Sat -

Sun - only definite thing planned is birthday celebration after supper.
