As posted over at Lake Stitcher:

"What's the oldest pattern in your stash? (Either the one with the earliest publication date or the one you bought the longest ago.) What's it's story? Have you stitched it?"

I'm pretty sure the oldest chart still in my stash is a needlepoint chart --- probably a Charles Wysocki Dimensions kit, which I have partially stitched (still needs the back-stitching and French Knots --- there are six of those, all circa copyright 1980 - 1985).

There is also copyright 1980, a crewel pillow kit by Erica Wilson. I have stitched one of the two pillows in the kit; the other is a long-term UFO...

And as for cross-stitch, the oldest is probably another UFO --- Celestial Angel, copyright 1991, by DImensions again.

I could not even begin to tell you! I have a lot that I know I have had since at least the late '80s/early '90s. Most of those are magazines. I did not buy too many single patterns until

I think the oldest patterns/kits I have are also from the late '80s. or early '90s.
