Ca-dreamer, down in http://www.ivillage.com/forums/home-garden/hobbies-crafts/stitchers-niche/yarn-works/resolutions-knitters#comment-119818338 inficated that she needs to otganize her tools and supplies! I totlaly agree... I had to shift so much stuff off oc my cutting table this week that it took twice as long to get four 1.5" strips of fabric cut  as it shouldhave. I really need to get to cleaning up my work space and making sense of how it it currenlty organized (it doesn't help that I'm terrible at putting things away, once a project is competed...).

So, using some of the tips in our organizing thread http://www.ivillage.com/forums/node/12796010, I think I will try to devote some time each week to celaning up, reordering stash, and making room to work in my craft space...

How about you all?

This was a Technical Tip in the Erica's newsletter. I thought it might be interesting to us all!

Many of us here have begun the new year by cleaning, clearing and sorting. While it may not sound like a fun job, working through all the crafting and sewing "stuff" we've accumulated actually makes life easier. I can't tell you how many times I've gone searching for an item, knowing I own it, but unable to remember where it ended up. When I straighten and organize everything, and remember to return items to their proper place, I end a big source of frustration. I can focus on being creative and doing what I really want to be doing.

It also makes sense from a financial standpoint. If we can't find something we need, we buy another and then often find the original. We also find all sorts of unexpected surprises when we clean (at least I do). Things we didn't realize we had come to the surface and now we can work on something new. Sometimes we also find just the right item for a project we're in the middle of. You never know what you've got until you find it!
