I haven't been reporting much on Goals section, but thought I'd share this pix.  The younger 2 GrDs are making wall hangings this year, learning to applique, use different machine stitches, add trim, etc.  Funniest part is eldest used to insist on using my computerized expensive Viking, where the one they have is manual.  Well today, was her DSs turn on my machine & she had problems. But eldest wizzed through on hers & has decided that it is now HER machine.  They have also decided to join 4H this Fall & get in the fashion program.  Woo hoo.  After having only sons, this is so much fun for me.Sewing summer 2012.jpg

How fun to see these lovely girls we hear so much about!  How fun for you (and them of course)!  I too love the hat.  And I also LOVE your sewing room!

Today's project was for each to experiment with length & width of  various built in machine stitches.   I gave them long strips of cotton canvas & pencil for noting settings used.  Both eventually had machine problems so I taught them to trouble shoot.  One needed a new needle, the other had skipped a tension disk when threading.  On Sat. the elder one is coming for a day of sewing.  She asked if she could come in her pjs & I said fine with me, that I'd spent many a day in mine, totally forgetting the time while I sewed.
