More about National Sewing Month this year...

“Sew for the Fun of It – An Ancient Art Made New” is the theme for this year’s which encourages young sewers, former sewers and new sewers to create simple sewn projects to kick-start their sewing. The sponsors are the American Sewing Guild and the Sewing and Craft Alliance.

Lots of sewing blogs will be issuing challenges, printing prooject tutorials and patterns and basically enocouraging readers to get out that sewing machine, dust it off, and sew something *fun*!. In addition, shops and dealers will be promoting with sales, in-store demonstrations and the like... so watch fro these in our "Thrifty Thursday" threads, the most recent being here.

I will try to post links to sites/blogs which mention National Sewing Month as the month progresses... like:

Some brands are doing contests... here is one from Arrow Cabinet: http://blog.arrowcabinets.com/2012/09/national-sewing-month-challenge-2.html

while this blogger is challenging her readers to do one hour a day of some kind of stitching: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/09/september-is-national-sewing-month.html

Do you respond to challenges like these? Is a prize an incentive?
