Do you like to visit botanical gardens, arboretums, and other public gardens when you travel?

(If yes) What are some of the best gardens that you have visited?

Yes, I do enjoy those a lot!! Some that come to mind that I've been to are....

San Francisco Golden Gate Botanical Gardens

New York State..don't remember exactly where

Botanica in Wichita, KS..very nice at Christmas too

Belle Plaine, KS Bartlett Arbortetum Gardens

Denver Botanic Gardens

Betty Ford Gardens, Vail, CO

That's all I can think of off hand.

My DH is a Master Gardener and wouldn't miss a public garden if he could help it! Me, not so much because he has to stop and look at EVERY plant...

The best that I remember were in Britain but I don't remember names (lots were in Cornwall and Devon and there were several "stately homes" that came with gardens as well).

Edited to add: I asked DH about the last time I went with him on a Master Garedener garden "hop" and the two that we stopped at were the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens (specificaly the Phipps) and Longwood

The Baha'i gardens in Haifa, Israel are semi-public and gorgeous. However, they're not for the puny (there is no ADA in Israel. I live in Colorado & STILL found the walk up 18 TERRACES OF STAIRS difficult); and there isn't really a "garden" tour as such. You won't know what you're looking at unless you know a reasonable amount of garden plants.
