Where do you go for Day Trips??

Tell us your favorite day trips from your area!

Where can you go, enjoy the day, and still get back home before too late that night??

What do you do there? What do you see?

We are in Pennsylvania and we can get to the Pocono Mountains in just about an hour, a truely beautiful spot. We can also go to Amish country, there is a lot to see there and a lot of history. There are really quite a few places to go on day trips, not countaing all the parks, amusement and other if you have children.

Welcome mawalter2, nice to meet you!! I grew up in northern NJ and you are right, the Pocono Mts are a beautiful spot!! Sadly, I never visited Amish country while there, always wanted to, just never made it. It is a beautiful part of the country. NYC was only a 45 minute drive for me, loved that too!! I'm thinking of Bear Mountain too. There was a zoo there where you could walk among and feed animals. Loved going there as a child.

Sounds like fun! I really like the idea of family "reunion" type trips, but DH's family is all local and don't NEED to do this while mine are so scattered and hooked into their partners' families instead...
