Sorry to hear about Sammy's setback, Patrick. It is so hard when you think they're on the brink of recovery then take a couple of steps backwards.
Just wondering if the vet said it was OK to crush the pills ... some lose their effectiveness if not taken whole. When Tillie was on Baytril, my vet said she had to have them whole for it to work. Pilling a cat is certainly not the easiest thing to do, especially when you're by yourself but I've gotten the technique down pretty well over the years. You might want to check and see if crushing the pills is OK.
