Ari urinated on the bed

We adopted Ari almost two weeks ago, & he's still not too into leaving the bedroom. He sleeps on the bed with us, & he's been eating just fine as long as the food is in the bedroom. He's terrified of Mia, because she chases him back under the bed whenever he starts to venture out.

Well, we had the litter box in the bedroom for a while, & then moved it to the bathroom. It looked clean, so we assumed that Ari was going downstairs to use the other litter box down there, so we just moved them both downstairs.

We moved it downstairs about three or four days ago, & then last night we found the urine on the bed. We soaked it up w/a towel, bleach watered & air freshened it. We moved the litter box back to the bathroom.

I guess the question is, how do we stop him from doing this again, & assure that he uses the litter box? I really don't want to start this cycle.

Thanks a lot.

Yikes, that's too bad that Ari peed on your bed.

Thanks for the reply.

When we saw it on the bed, it seemed like it was very freshly put there. We soaked it up w/towels, & then soaked it in bleach water & air Febreeze. Then we let it dry & did the same thing again this morning. Do you think that we need to get Nature's Miracle if we used bleach?

I would still use the Nature's Miracle.

I agree in that you need to use a good enzymatic cleanser to break down the urine as bleach often won't do that.
