Boots is Home from the Vets....

They said it took about 4 hours for the barium to go through her system. Thankfully the x-rays did not show any blockages or anything. Just inflamation....they think just a result of a virus. I am still frustrated that there's no real diagnosis. Just wait & see. They did not do any tests for parasites since they did not think they were a likely problem. I sure hope the vet is right. She thought the barium would coat her intestines and cut down on the sensitivity/nausea. So far she still seems nauseus when we try to pet her....strange. Her voice is still not there. I am supposed to call the vet tomorrow to let her know how she's doing. She ate a few bites of her dry food tonight and that's it. Still no water.....sigh. At least she got some fluids at the vets.

Thank you everyone for your continued thoughts & prayers. It is hard seeing any of our babies so ill. Sweet Boots tried to clean Boots (they had given her a partial bath at the vets). So cute!

Boots & I are off to sleep....Misha & Meezer are up playing as usual. LOL

Good Night!

That's good that Boots doesn't have a blockage.

I'm working at a college which is a minimum 30 minute drive each way from home (there's lots of construction around town, so in rush hour traffic it has taken me up to an hour on bad days).

Some days I hate doing daycare but then glad I was able to be home with my kids and furkids. Now they are in school but still here before and after and get to take a lot of days off. When Dusty was sick at the end I would have had to put him to sleep much earlier if I was not at home! I think Scooby and Ellie and my kids and maybe dh

Thanks..sometimes I think I am taken for granted,dh gets a nice homeade meal every night and does not have to worry about daycare and his kids. I know he knows how good it has been but sometimes daycare gets so tiring!!!! Give those kittys a kiss and tell them to get all well!

It is good that the xray showed no blockages.

Thank you Jane, Misty & Misha! I got home from work and Boots was sleeping on the bed. I tried to pet her and she started the dry heaves again. I don't understand how touching her brings this reaction on. She did just eat a few bites of her dry food, so that's at least a good thing. I will call the vet's again tomorrow and tell them she's still dry heaving & see what she says. (She thought the barium coating on the intestines would calm the nerve endings and would stop her nausea & heaving).

You poor thing! You had to go through the barium x-ray procedure before? How did you feel afterwards? Was it painful or just yucky to get the barium? I knew it would take something pretty uncomfortable or scary to ever make Boots react like that. She normally is so friendly she'd come right up and sit on your lap even though she just met you.

Boots really appreciates the hugs & kisses from Misha & Misty. :-) She sends purrs (since her meows won't work at the moment. LOL) Thanks so much for your prayers!

That is weird that she does that when you touch her,I hope she is better tomorrow, you are not wearing or using anything new that would be bothering her?
