Buttons dreams are outta control! Help

Hi everyone,

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. Recently we’ve been having a problem with Button. A little background first, Button is 4 years old she’s blind in one eye. The cause of her blindness was narrowed down to some kind of trauma that might have happened to her. She has terrible balance and her head shakes a little. Now here’s the problem Button has been actively dreaming. What I mean by that is she’s literally running sideways, kicking and jerking all over the place. We’ve paid close attention to her while we’re awake and it doesn’t look like she’s having seizures or anything. The problem is she sometimes falls off of the places she sleeps. She has also smacked her head against the wall once. After that we’ve tried to put pillows behind her but she tends to move around at night. What I’m wondering is if anyone out there has had experience with this sort of thing? And if so is this permanent? She’s been doing this for about two months now and I’m worried she’s going to hurt herself. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

ButtonsS

Hi, it's nice to see you again. I think I would take Button to the vet to have this checked out since it's something new she is doing.

My cat dreams sometimes. My cat doesn't live with me so I have to go out to my dad's to see her. Lately, we've been snuggling up and taking naps together. Last Saturday, she started dreaming. It was cute. The only problem was that her paws were resting on one of my hands and she kept digging her claws into it. OWWWWW! She has also kicked her legs before. Is it possible to move her down to the floor? At least that way, she won't be falling off anything. But I know how finicky cats are, so that might not be possible. ;-) I suggest at least calling your vet to get some info about how to deal with this.
