Can cats sence illness?

I have a 2 year old Calico, who is the funniest, sweetest, most loveable animal I've ever had. She is normally not the clingy type. Not a lap cat, but loves to lie in bed with me. Friday I had to have a breast biopsy, and she has been by my side most of the time since then.

Thanks for any info!

hugs,

GG

I definitely believe out cats can sense when something is bothering us. When my hubby or I are home sick from work my cats won't leave our side. Last week I was let go from a job unexpectedly. My long-hair cat Tegato sat in my lap all that night and spent the next day following me around the house talking to me. Also when our other cat T passed away both the boys jumped up on the bed when the phone rang and it was the vet calling to tell us T passed away. It was almost like they knew T was gone before we did. I hope everything goes well with the biopsy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It sounds like you have a great cat that wants to make sure you are ok.

They certainly can! When I had my biopsies done in June, after I got home from the hospital Tillie laid down in bed and stretched out her paws so they were barely touching my arms. Usually she is snuggled as close as she can get to me.

How did your biopsy turn out? Benign I hope!

My cats and dogs seem to know when I'm depressed. It helps to have them near. Good luck on the biopsy, I know you will be fine. donna
