I happened to come acrossed this board while looking up a very odd behavior my cat has. So I thought I would mention it heere, and see if anyone has heard about it or has any insight to it. My cat who is 5, does the strangest thing. At night while we are sleeping she brings items such as small stuffed animals, gloves, mittens, socks and drops them by my bedside. Sometimes she drops a couple by me, and then there is a line of the items all the way to the different rooms in the house she gets them from. At first we had no idea how those things were getting there, but then one night she was meowing in a very loud strange way and we turned the light on to see she had one of my sons sizeable stuffed animals in her mouth. It is so funny, and we are stumped as to why she might have this habit. This happens usually every night. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Jenn

Hi Jenn. *Welcome* to Cats.
Hi Jenn.
I'm certainly no cat expert or behaviorist, but I have seen this behavior before in my grandma's cat. They used to live out in the country/woods and had a black persian cat named Mugsy. He had a cat door and went in and out at his leisure. He used to bring in mice and squirrels and lay them on the floor next to my grandma's bed. She always thought he was bringing her presents to impress her (he was my grandpa's cat before they were married).
The funny part is when they weren't completely dead (well, it's not funny, but imagine waking up to a maimed squirrel loose in your kitchen...good storytelling moments). He also used to play with his prey in the bathtub and then leave them there when he was finished...and of course my grandma would be the first to take a shower and discover is playdate. Mugsy related to my grandma in a very different way, but it was so endearing. :0) I think it's sweet.
