My two year old cat is driving me CRAZY! I seriously do not know what to do with him. I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and he is stressing me out! We have metal mini blinds in our front window and he always goes to them and picks at our curtains and touches the blinds with his paws and makes all this noise. I DRENCH him with the water bottle and he will run away but then he comes right back. When he isn't doing this he is meowing to go outside even though he has never been outside. I try to play with him, hold him, nothing works. I know he doesn't like getting squirted with the water because he runs away but why does he keep coming back? It seems like I always have to lock him in the laundry room in our house or the bedroom so I don't pull my hair out. I just don't understand why he is doing this. I have 2 other cats and they dont' do anything like this. I feel like he is just doing to to purpously irritate me. Does anyone have any ideas besides squirting him and keeping him locked up? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a LOT of toys he can play with,a climbing tower or one of those circular toys that he can spin the ball around. Can you pull the blind up and then see if he forgets about it?

I can tell you I had the same problem with my cat, Bad Annie. My apartment had plastic miniblinds. Every single evening, Annie would walk to those blinds, paw at them, and yowl. I'd come with the squirt bottle, and she'd get all excited, like "Finally! You've come to play with me!" I'd spray her, she'd run, I'd sit down...and within 10 minutes, it would start all over.

The only way I solved the problem, was leave the blinds pulled up just above her head...out of sight/out of mind...and have play sessions with her. Since I've moved into my new home, I've decided never to buy mini blinds...ever.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will try to start playing with him. We have a bird feeder hanging outside of our back window and it doesn't have blinds or curtains so they can get up there and see the birds. I would take them outside in our backyard because it is fenced but I am afraid if he gets a taste of the outside, he will bother me even more to go out all the time! What do you think? I also have a toy that attaches to the top of a door and hangs down and he is afraid of it and doesn't play with it. He does have a thing for make up blush brushes though! But he always gets them under the couch and loses them.
