This is the first time I'm posting on ivillage. I've gone to these boards many times to find useful information and read interesting stories from other cat owners, and I finally have something to post about!
My cat LOVES carrotts! Raw or cooked, baby or full size, she plays with them as if they've been dipped in catnip!!! I don't understand it. Tonight we had company for dinner and we had, among other things, baby carrotts. I gave Chloe (my 5-year-old rescue cat) a baby carrott to play with and she went nuts!!! Rolling around on the floor with it, batting at it, rubbing her neck and face on it. I've never heard of such a thing and I wonder if this is something that other cat owners have experienced or if this behavior is specific to just Chloe!!
I'd love to hear what others have to say about this topic!! : ) Thanks!!

Funny story too, a little similar. Green beans. I had a cat about 5 yrs or so ago. (my ex got her in the divorce). I would start to open the can of green beans, she would jump on the counter.. "meow, meow, meow" just non-stop. I started giving her only a couple, I wasn't sure what they would do to her. It eventually turned into 1/2 of the can! So, at least twice a week she got a 1/2 a can of green beans! It was better than catnip, better than that rub under the chin!
I also had (and I know this is a little bit of a bad mommy for me) but one of the others from the previous had to enjoy my fudge bars with me. some people may think this is gross, but me and her both licked the fudge bar. I would let her lick it for only about 5 licks, then take it, give another 5 licks. It was just sooo cute though! She would stick out her little tongue, close her eyes, and just lick, lick, lick!
