Never used one on Tiger in all his yrs, never went out or tried to get out and we watched close. Ellie...??? Do not know what to do? Should I get her a collar and tag or not?? We are never letting her out and I hate to have a collar on for fear she will get caught on it. A chip would really do no good as if she ever got out around here I do not think anyone would take her in to get a chip checked. ??????? I put a gate in our entry so you come in the back door and there is a entry and then a doorway with a gate so she will not be right by the door.

It's up to you Chris. None of mine have collars because if they ever got out, I doubt anyone would find them.

Our don't have collars either. My ^Missy^ and Boots & Patches all lost fur permanently around their neck when they wore collars (and they weren't on too tight). I don't want that to happen to Misha & the kitten so they don't wear them. Thomie never wore one because she totally freaks out if anything is around her neck. LOL Our 5, as I've mentioned before, have the microchips because in the unlikely event they get out, I think there would be at least a 50% chance someone would take them to the Humane Society where they'd be scanned or else their own vet would scan them if they tried to keep them. (At least I hope so!) If I weren't afraid of fur loss, I'd have the (mentally stable) cats wear collars "just in case". It's up to you, though. I suspect Ellie will always stay safe inside.

Hugs,
