cooler weather...

At least here in the midwest, fall has finally arrived (after being in the 80s on Saturday it is 61 today).

And the cooler weather has turned the cats into crazy animals!!!  It is game on around the house...chasing each other, chasing your own tail, chasing toys, chasing bugs (yeah - not such a big fan of that one). We have several fosters right now, and 3 of them are 5-7 months old. Oh my....Junior thinks this is AWESOME and there is a lot of thundering up and down the hallway.

What about at your house??

Our weather hasn't changed yet but we're supposed to get a cold front tomorrow. I kind of doubt that Coco will behave any differently though. She generally sleeps most of the day on one of two chairs. Her activity periods seem to be when we go to bed, and just before dawn---and sometimes a brief burst of energy right after a meal. If we had another cat she would probably be more active.

Your youngsters running around sounds like a lot of fun, nice that they have so many playmates.

The personality of cat is possessive. Coco may get jealous if there is another cat inside your house.

some cats won't tolerate other cats in their territories, but with proper introductions most learn to co-exist. I have been fostering for over 6 years and my crew very nicely puts up with all the newbies (after some intially moaning and groaning)

I suspect that Coco would not be happy if we got another cat but she hopefully she would get used to it--but no plans to add to the pets here. Grandcat, at 7yo, got used to dd's roommate's cat and now they are like litter mates--play a lot, groom each other, sleep in a tangle, and share their humans. We briefly considered having dd bring Grandcat here for Christmas but decided that since she's only staying for 5 days it would be too disruptive for both cats.

It really hasn't been cold here yet.  We have had a nice fall so far.  My cats don't seem to be any more active when it's cold.  I guess they don't know it  since they are indoors.  Sammy does have his running time in the evening before we go to bed.  I do have an outdoor place for them that they can come and go and I don't think it gets used much when it does get cold.
