My cat has been making a "chewing" motion with his mouth, even though he doesnt have anything in it. It almost looks like he's talking. He's also started drooling a bit. I know they do this when their teeth bother them, but his gums are still pink and his teeth look fine. He was sneezing quite a bit, and showing some signs of upper respiratory. So, the clinic i work for gave me soem doxycycline to try. I'm wondering if this should help? The girl i work with suggested he might have an ulcer in his mouth or something. He is eating and drinking fine, but he stopped eating his dry food, he sticks to wet food now. I'm guessing because its hard for him to swallow. Does doxy make sense for this?

It's an antibiotic and if he does have an ulcer somewhere it will probably take care of it.

Let us know if the meds help. My Tiger used to make a chewing noise like that sometimes but he was Persian and they say it is because his mouth is so small

I've never had a cat do that.
