I figured since we have a TON of new *faces* here, I would do an extra roll call to see who we've got!

Hi Cat,
Great to meet you and glad to be here. Here's a little bit of what I posted yesterday with some additions.
My name is Lynn and I was raised on a farm in Kansas and have had cats and other pets all my life. For quite some time I was married and moved all over the country so have lived in the Los Angeles area, Bay area, and Northern New Jersey prior to returning "home" to Kansas! "There's no place like home" or so the movie says!
In the past I have had a variety of different pets and worked for a long time in the pet industry managing pet stores and a kennel. I currently work for a publisher and have for 12 years. I am now down to two indoor only kitties as I live in a townhome in the suburbs now. My kitties are Gabriel 5 yrs old, black DLH, copper eyed weighing in at only 8.75#(absolutely the littlest tom I've ever had) and Zachary 4 yrs old, black DLH, kind of copper/green eyes topping the scales at 14#. Both adopted from the shelter that comes to our local Petsmart every weekend in the year 2001. This was after I had to have my 14 yr old calico cat named Cali put to sleep due to CRF and lymphoma.
"The Boys" as I refer to them are absolutely the loves of my life and we have been through a lot together. They are both IBD kitties so I've found what works for us(one with diarhhea form, the other both diarhhea and vomitting). The diagnosis of IBD came after a much too long story of treatment for giardia that was misdiagnosed.
Zachary has a recently diagnosed idiopathic grade 2 heart murmur that we now have a baseline echocardiogram to monitor in the future. Fortunately we have worked out some behavior issues as well at least on Zachary's part. You will here me call Gabriel my little "angel boy". That's because honestly he is the easiest cat in the world to get along with. He loves everybody and has always just done what he's supposed to do. Zachary is another story although he is a total Momma's boy(a real scaredy cat who only let's Momma see the real Zach) and he is absolutely a love bug and both are spoiled rotten! Well, enough about us....
Oh, and did I mention I have allergies and of course one of the things I'm allergic to is cats! Go figure as I've been around them all my life.....and it would NEVER stop me from owning them. That's what allergy shots and meds are for isn't it?
Look forward to meeting you all!

LOVE IS SHOWN BY DEEDS, NOT WORDS.
LOVE IS SHOWN BY DEEDS, NOT WORDS.
Hi, I'm Noelle, and I'm a cat-a-holic. No, seriously...I have 2 cats, Annie and Chalimar. Annie is 8, long-haired, white, and completely deaf. She alternates between being the love of my life and the bane of my existence. (Like this morning, when she woke my up at 6am by kicking hairbrushes off the bathroom counter.) Chalimar is a blue-cream tortie, scared of everything, but with me has an attitude a mile wide. I adore them both.
I live south of Cleveland, Oh...not a suburb, but actually a small town. I'm employed as a Business Analyst, which from my end is a fancy term for a computer programmer. I just bought my first home/condo back in October...and totally planned it out for my cats. There's a loft for them to play in, plenty of windows for them to stalk birds...it's great. I grew up with dogs, because my grandma was afraid of cats...meaning, if we got a cat, Grandma would never come to visit. (hmmm) I got my first cat 13 years ago, when I skipped my senior prom, and rescued a kitten instead. Excellent trade off.
And that concludes our trip through the looking glass. :)

Kelly here, I've been an on and off regular poster on this board since December 2003. I live with my BF of just over 3 years, and we are the proud furparents to two kitties.
Tasha, our 8-year old beautiful tortie, was adopted from a Petcetera/SPCA outlet on December 8th, 2003. She is the sweetest, most perfect kitty anyone could ever ask for. She has a great temperament - not too clingy, but very cuddly when she wants to be. She is very well behaved, and never jumps on counters or tabletops, and never "gets into things" like many cats tend to do. She's my girl and I love her to death. :)
The newest member of our family is Bailey. He just came into our lives last Monday. A co-worker found a litter of kittens in the yard part of our warehouse early Monday morning, so a few of us went out there to try and round them up. I personally caught Bailey myself, and after a brief hissing/spitting/swatting spell, he calmed down significantly once I cuddled him to my chest. A trip to the vet Tuesday evening gave him a clean bill of health, and confirmed that he was about 5-6 weeks old, so we arbitrarily decided his birthday would be April 1st. It's only been 5 days but I am already hopelessly in love! He's gained loads of confidence already, and doesn't hiss anymore when he sees hands coming for him. LOL. I can already tell he's going to be a cuddler, and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that I was his first ever human contact. :)
