Giving kittens milk

I have no idea if this is true or not.
My fiance's Aunt told me that her vet told her not to give her cat milk because it will give them worms. Is this true?
Michelle
No, milk does not give kittens worms. However, it does upset their stomachs and can give them diarrhea which in very young kittens can be fatal b/c they can dehydrate very quickly. Even older cats do not tolerate cows milk very well...for that matter, neither do most humans...I don't know if this is just something u were wondering about, or if you are taking care of kittens, but should the situation arise, you can use KMR (kitten milk replacement) and follow the directions on the can!

Thank You for responding to my post so quickly. I was just wondering because of hear say. My vet actually told me to give my older cat Missy milk because it will make her stool looser. She has a problem with hairballs and she told me it would help. If I do give either of my cats milk, it is very little. I have not seen any diarreha when I've given them milk so I guess it is okay. Take care Laurie. *hugs*
