Hamlet is having problems again...

Hamlet had to go to the vet this evening for a new problem. Over the last 2 weeks he has been losing a patch of fur (2-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches deep) over his shoulder area. The fur that is left has become brittle. He then developed a scabby lump in the area and he began to break out in little welts all over his ears, face, tummy, the balding area and his paw. His skin is also bright red now. The welts and redness happened over only 2 days, and a majority over last night.
