With so much going on I am going to paste in the updates I have done the last couple of days on my site here... Rather long, but hey, I have never been one to claim I keep my posts under 100 words.

In bed I heard Andromeda scratching to get out of the bedroom at the door. She does this all the time, and will walk out if I open the door, then 5 minutes later is scratching to get back in. Last night when I heard her I ignored her so I could sleep. I was so worked up over Hamlet and Orion that I had no idea.... She kept scratching at the door all night and by 3am I finally got hup to let her out. She was not there!! Seems I locked her OUT not in and I opened the door a crack and in she ran, and was following me around and mewing over and over. Seems she was telling me off for not letting her in sooner! What a little nag! Hamlet puked up again this morning and he laid on the bed unmoving all night. THis morning Orion actually are, though he is not himself quite. Hamlet just walked out of the bedroom very slowly, puked, then returned to the bay window bed in the bedroom, He also feels warm to me. I will be taking him in to the vet after work today, and possibly Orion depending on how he seems when I get home.

Hamlet went to the vet this evening. He is still sick and the vet is not sure what he his. No fever, but he just won't eat (and if you knew Hamlet it is like saying the sun just won't shine). We came home and he puked all over again! The carpet in the master bedroom looks awful after days of this! ANyway, if he does it again tonight they want him in the office in the moring for xrays and more work. :(

Well, as instructed I gave Hamlet 2 tablespoons of KD last night about 9pm. He did eat it, though slowly and with a lot of coaxing. I had to feed it to him in the cat cup to. He never left the cup at all. This morning he slowly got out of the cup as I fed the gang and he managed to slowly walk to the hall, there he managed to throw-up all the food (2 tablespoons) from yesterday. I know it was the canned KD as I gave him the Chicken KD and it has these little white rice like things in it, which were littering his vomit. It made a horrible mess on the hall rug. Thank goodness it is a throw-rug and will be washed now (I cleaned it best I could then rolled it up and put it in the laundry room). He then laid there on the floor for a few minutes then slowly (he is walking really slow and a wee bit shaky now and I assume it is the total of what, 4 days of no food?) went back to the cup bed in the bay window (we had cat stairs at the window for him with his back problems, so we goes up the stairs).
I packed him up and took him to the vet at 7:30am (when they open). Now I am at work and waiting to hear from the vet. I assume now starts blood work and x-rays. I realize it is a very different situation, but hell, it reminds me of when we found Itchy had the strictures in his intestine before it was found to be his cancer. He was unable to eat at all and ended up on a liquid diet while we went though a week of tests and barium series, only to have to slice him open and remove a section of his intestine. So of course I am a bit wound up today with visions of Itchy dancing in my head. I suspect I’ll hear from the vet early if Hamlet gets energy. He scares the vet and they like me to hold Hamlet while they draw blood and have had me hold him for x-rays as well.

The results on Hamlet so far are not overly promising to me. They put him under a light anesthesia to take blood and do an x-ray. When he was under he let loose a lot of diarrhea that was mostly mucus and blood. His x-rays show his intestine are dilated and he MAY have a blockage, but it is hard to tell well on the series of x-rays. (Hamlet may eat a lot of food, but he is NOT one who eats foreign material AT ALL) Could be hair or something unknown. The x-ray also has some spots in his tummy… could be nothing, could be cancer. More needs to be done. He had something (the name now escapes me) in his urine, that would only come from bile. That points to possible pancreas issues. Some of his blood work points in the way of the pancreas so the initial diagnosis (if one could be given) may be pancreatitis. His blood is being sent to a special lab to check more on this and it may take a week for the results. He was dehydrated and needed come fluids. Mean time, he is still at the vet and will be allowed to come home tonight, but has o return in the morning. If that blob in his intestine does not move and some of the signs still continue they may want to do a barium series. (God this so freaking smacks of when Itchy first had his problems and the early days before we know it was cancer)
His x-rays also do show more degrading of his lower back area, so the vet mentioned it. We knew that just by how he gets around though.
It is not possible to point to the problem yet, but we are trying. He is just not looking well either. I have to say, Hamlet is my special boy. My first cat. Not that Itchy was not or I love Hamlet more, there is just a special connection, a bond with us. I am a wreck right now. If something happens to Hamlet I just could not deal with it. Not so soon after our horrible May. I am just at a loss right now and upset. But who knows, it may be nothing...

Oh {{{David}}} I'm so sorry. I hope it's nothing. Fuzzy had a lot of vomiting and bloody diarrhea. The vet could also feel masses on his stomach and colon.
Sending prayers and healing thoughts to you and Hamlet. Hoping that it's nothing worse that some passing bug and he'll be back to his old self soon.
God bless, Lynn
I'm so sorry that Hamlet is so sick!
We got Hamlet home about 5pm and he started to puke all over and had diarrhea with blood all over it. He kept having these bouts every 20 or so minutes. The vet had me get some medication to help stop it and we got it in him about 9pm. He looks HORRIBLE! His eyes can hardly open, they are watery, he can hardly move. He managed to come into the computer room and tried to get on the couch anf fell over. 2 times he fall over just walking!! He has been sleeping on the floor next to me for the last hour or so. I am supposed to offer him water at 11pm and I am waiting to do this.
He goes back to the vet at 7:30am as per the vet. :(
