Please help. I have two indoor cats. They have always gotten along well, to the extent where they sit on each other and lick each other.
They are doing a big repair on my apartment complex this weekend, so I, and the cats, are staying at a friends house. We got there last night, after many failed attempts to get them in the cat carrier.
Once we got there, the older cat started growling and spitting and fighting with the younger cat, who in turn started acting that way back. They're still doing so. I don't know what the deal is. They're friends. I wasn't favoring one over the other, we were all in the same room, etc. Please, any advice, let me know.
Their getting along again is critical as, on Feb 1, I am moving from Los Angeles to NYC and bringing them on a plane, in the same carrier, and taking them to a really new house to live. So, please help me solve the current problem so as to solve a potential bigger one.
THANK YOU!

Hi Amyaccardi. *Welcome* to Cats.
